“I learned to treasure myself as a person, to appreciate my qualities”, “There were many practical activities, team work, where I learned how to make right decisions for myself and how to get involved actively”, “Most of all, I liked the fact that we could speak freely, that we were listened. We were told “Nothing is wrong”. The way the activities were organized helped me shape a better idea of what I should do after finishing high school”, “I discovered, I learned that we are the most important and, in order to pass over failures successfully, we must be ambitious and have self-confidence”, “Thank you for the opportunity to learn new things, for the beautiful experience, for the new and special people I met. We learned one from the other new and good things for the future” – these are several impressions gathered from the young people who participated to the first series of courses of the Intercultural Summer School “Education for your future”. ” Thus, for a week, 40 young people from Vaslui County of different ethnicities were prepared as peer educators in order to become educational support for the specialists and young people from their communities. They received information in order to pass it on, regarding the prevention of consuming alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, human trafficking, managing the anger and aggressiveness situations, career counselling and guidance, but also volunteering. The trainers of the Intercultural Summer School (the first series of courses) were the specialists of World Vision Romania Foundation, COTE Foundation, Salvati Copiii Association and Alternative Sociale Association. The event, organized by ADV Romania, took place at Bucium Hotel Iasi and is part of the project “Partnership for inclusion!”, developed by a consortium of 9 institutions – Alaturi de Voi Romania Foundation – applicant, in partnership with: The General Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection Iasi, The General Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection Vaslui, Alternative Sociale Association, Salvati Copiii Association, COTE Foundation, Bethany Foundation of Social Services, Star of Hope Romania Foundation and World Vision Romania Foundation, the offices from Iasi and Vaslui. The project is funded within the call of proposals « SYNERGIES FOR THE FUTURE – Youth at risk”, on the Programmme RO10 - Children and Youth at Risk and Local and Regional Initiatives to Reduce National Inequalities and to Promote Social Inclusion, program developed within the EEA 2009-2014 Financial Mechanism.
