We are training peer to peer educators

The first series of the Summer School 13th edition started at Iasi, at Bucium Hotel, and was organized by Alaturi de Voi Romania Foundation for 40 young people from the rural communities in Vaslui Counties. The Intercultural Summer School – “Education for your future” is organized in two series in the period August 22nd – September 2nd 2016 for 80 young people of different ethnicity, with ages between 16 and 25 years, with the domicile in Iasi and Vaslui Counties, pupils, students, high school graduates, communicative young people with leadership abilities. The participants were selected among the beneficiaries of specialized social services offered on the project “Partnership for inclusion!” and through the mobile caravans. Through this event, we intend to initiate/prepare the young people as peer-educators in order to become educational support for the specialists and young people from the communities to which they belong. The trainers of the Intercultural Summer School of the first series of courses are the specialists of World Vision Romania Foundation, COTE Foundation, Salvati Copiii Foundation – Iasi and Alternative Social Foundation. During the summer school courses, the participants will receive information on the prevention of alcohol use, tobacco and other drugs, human trafficking, managing violence and aggressiveness situations, career counselling and guidance, but also on volunteering. The Intercultural Summer School “Education for your future” is organized on the project “Partnership for inclusion!”, developed by a consortium of 9 institutions – Alaturi de Voi Romania Foundation – applicant, in partnership with: The General Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection Iasi, The General Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection Vaslui, Alternative Sociale Association, Salvati Copiii Association, COTE Foundation, Bethany Foundation of Social Services, Star of Hope Romania Foundation and World Vision Romania Foundation, the offices from Iasi and Vaslui. The project is funded within the call of proposals « SYNERGIES FOR THE FUTURE – Youth at risk”, on the Programmme RO10 - Children and Youth at Risk and Local and Regional Initiatives to Reduce National Inequalities and to Promote Social Inclusion, program developed within the EEA 2009-2014 Financial Mechanism.
