During 22nd of August and 2nd of September 2016, 80 youngsters, from different ethnical groups, from Iasi and Vaslui counties, were trained as peer-educators for their communities. The training took place in the Intercultural Summer school.
The trainers of the Intercultural Summerschool were specialists from the ADV Romania Foundation, Bethany Social Services Foundation, Star of Hope Romania Foundation, World Vision Romania Foundation, COTE Foundation, Save the Children Iasi Association and Social Alternatives Iasi Association.
The event, organised by ADV Romania Foundation, took place at Bucium Hotel in Iasi. The beneficiaries were trained to transfer information and know-how to peers, about: health and sexual education, bullying - social and psychological consequences, ways to prevent and react, leadership, alcohol and other drugs abuse prevention, human trafficking prevention. Also, they learned about dealing with violence and other related to situations, career orientation and professional planning and about volunteering.
